Susie Russell for Lyne

Lyne By-election
Susie Russell lives with her partner Greg on a rural property near the small village of Elands on the ridge between the Hastings and Manning valleys on the Mid-North Coast. She is a woman of integrity, common sense and compassion.
Susie has worked in various professions and is a passionate environmentalist. She has been an office-bearer with the North Coast Environment Council for the last ten years, and a Co-ordinator of the North East Forest Alliance since 1995, playing an important role in the campaign to save the oldgrowth forests of her region.
She is also a company director, volunteer at the Elands Primary School and active in the Manning Reconciliation group. She has been a candidate for the Greens at both state and national levels since 1995.
If elected, Susie would:
- Be a voice of reason in the House of Representatives
- Move for immediate and decisive action to combat global warming
- Push for an immediate pension increase
- Support immediate action to rescue the Murray-Darling River system.
- Work to re-energise Australia, supporting renewable energy, balanced industrial relations, sustainable industries, and a cleaner environment
- Campaign for an independent, non-violent, nuclear-free and cooperative foreign policy
- Help create a healthy economy with a healthy society and a healthy environment
- Support action to correct injustices to indigenous Australians
Susie Russell’s long-term commitment and experience in environmental and social justice action shows she is ready to represent Lyne.
