Block the Coalition’s cruel amendment to the Migration Act
In October, the Coalition Government with the support of Pauline Hanson’s One Nation proposed an attempt to amend the Migration Act. The proposal will prevent people seeking asylum, who have come to Australia by boat, from ever applying for any Australian visa. It’s now clear that the Government’s refugee policy is being led by Pauline Hanson and One Nation.
We had less than a week to prevent this heinous policy from being implemented by convincing Labor to oppose it, and the ALP agreed to stand with the Greens and block this ban.
However, we know that this government will stop at nothing when it comes to cruel policy making, so we need to keep the pressure on them to prevent this proposal from returning.
