A lifetime of learning

Investment in public education is essential to ensure a fair Australia and is a key part of our transition to a sustainable new economy.

Opportunities for all students

The Greens have the courage to back students and make high-quality university education accessible to all Australians. The Labor and Liberal parties have increased student debt and class sizes, while cutting student support.

Our Lifetime of Learning policy that includes early childhood education, support for schools, students with a disability and the tertiary sector.

Investing in higher education

University students face more barriers to education than ever before. The Labor and Liberal parties have increased student debt and class sizes, while cutting student support. The Greens have the courage to back students and make high-quality university education accessible to all Australians.

The Greens believe that all Australians are entitled to free, well-funded and high quality, life-long education and training. The Greens will continue to fight against higher fees for students by investing $1.4 billion per annum to reduce students’ HELP costs by 20% and reinstate the Student Start-Up Scholarships as a grant.

Funding for students with disability

The Greens will enable an equitable education for all, and ensure that every student in every Australian school can reach their full potential and maximise their abilities. Every child has the right to an education and disability should never be a barrier to access.

We want to make sure that each and every child, no matter their abilities, gets go to school and participate just like everyone else. Less than half of students with disability in Australian schools are currently being funded for their support needs. This is unacceptable, and unfair: it fails students, and it fails our schools.
