About
I was born and educated in the heart of the Mallee in Ouyen and now live in Mildura where I work extensively in community cultural and economic development and mother two healthy, talented children.
I am a member of Champions of the Bush; a Northern Mallee leadership graduate; recipient of the Victorian Governments’ Regional Small
Business Hero Award and passionate about the sustainable future of regional and rural Australia.
“The Mallee electorate has been held by the National Party for 17 years and whilst I have utmost respect for the sitting member, I believe it is time for fresh representation of the issues facing the Mallee”.
Policies
The Greens envision a rural Australia with strong and vibrant communities supported by profitable and sustainable agriculture, clean rural industries and safe, affordable public transport. Our economy cannot prosper at the expense of our environment – they depend on each other. The Greens plan to address the impact of climate change and the social and economic decline of rural communities and industries by:
- Ensuring that rural communities have access to health and education services equal to city residents;
- Supporting green businesses, diversification and growing green jobs in rural communities;
- Extending and improving rural public transport and rail freight infrastructure;
- Protecting water supplies and food security while still returning adequate water to protect the health of our great rivers;
- Protecting biodiversity by supporting integrated approaches to managing weeds, salinity, water quality and soil degradation, pest animals and insects and habitat loss.
