Policies

More and more Australians are realising The Greens are a genuine alternative to the major parties. The Greens will work with local communities to ensure:

  • Australia implements fair and effective solutions to climate change. The Greens have proposed an interim carbon tax as a solution to the impasse on Labor’s ineffective emissions trading scheme.
  • The Lake Macquarie region must be part of Australia’s response to climate change by implementing a planned transition to renewable energy. Clean energy investment can reinvigorate the region by providing a jobs boom.
  • proper investment must be made in public services like  education, health, and public transport, to support people across the Lake Macquarie region.
  • refugees are afforded justice and treated with compassion
