Jane Alcorn lives in Kapunda. She’s a Councillor for Light Regional Council and a carer for her partner and adult son. Jane trained as a biochemist and has previously worked in hospital laboratories and research, leaving paid employment for some years to raise her children.

Jane has always had a great interest in political issues and has been a candidate for the State seat of Stuart. Her particular passions are a low carbon economy, social justice, food security & protection of primary production land, and respite & help for carers.

Jane is an artist, painting regularly when time permits. She loves working in her extensive vegetable garden and is working towards a self-sufficient lifestyle with a smaller carbon “footprint”.
