Policies

Jim has always been interested in politics and credits his father for that interest. He has been a member of the Victorian Greens since the 2002 State Election. Jim is deeply committed to:

  • showing more compassion and care for refugees and asylum seekers;
  • doing more for the poor and homeless (here and overseas);
  • supporting and promoting multiculturalism;
  • caring for the environment;
  • fighting climate change;
  • protecting old growth forests;
  • protecting endangered species;
  • promoting “war as a last resort”;
  • resisting further privatisation;
  • supporting government reclaiming control over essential utilities (water, gas, electricity, public transport);
  • resisting mindless materialism that is causing so many of the problems our planet is facing.

Jim became active with the Greens because “they are the one party that prioritises these goals.”
