About
Born and raised in Port Hedland, Julie’s family played a significant role in the community, recognised with the honorary naming of the Matheson football oval.
One of the first 200 Certified Financial Planners in Australia, Julie’s expertise in took her to Sydney and Perth in a range of roles including board positions with the Financial Planning Association until she retired in November 2009.
Julie is now focused on her first passion - regional towns. Rather than be at the mercy of investment cycles and the stock market, she believes regional communities need more permanent residents to become resilient. Providing more affordable housing, better health and education services and investing in the social capital of communities will lead to a sustainable future for our regions.
She believes that the area within the electorate of Durack holds the key to Australia's long term sustainable economy. Greens policies give regional towns and communities a roadmap for a sustainable future as they continue to power the Australian economy. The Greens have the economic credentials to do this.

Policies
The Greens are not just a one policy party.
Greens policies give regional towns and communities a roadmap for a sustainable future, to power the Australian economy.
A vote for the Greens is a vote for a responsible stimulus package. Greens Senator Rachel Siewert work with the Government to deliver a $400 million local jobs package, to prevent job losses and economic hardship for Australian families.
The Greens want economic solutions that build community resilience for each regional town while respecting the environmental aspects of land and culture.
The Greens are the only party with policies for an inclusive Australian society with social justice, participatory democracy, and economic and ecological sustainability.
