About
Larissa Waters is an environmental lawyer who has worked in the community sector for eight years advising people how to use the law to protect Queensland’s environment.
Larissa grew up in Brisbane and lives in Bardon with her partner and their young daughter.
She is passionate about human rights, protecting our environment and public participation and accountability in government.
Larissa wants to give the community a voice back in federal Parliament because the major parties only listen to their donors and vested interests.
Larissa narrowly missed out on becoming Queensland’s first Greens Senator in 2007. In 2010 she has a strong chance of representing Queenslanders who want a fairer and more sustainable Australia.

Policies
Queensland is truly a beautiful place – but we are at the coal face of climate change and urban development. We have no minor party Senators - no-one speaking for the community who isn’t beholden to coal and developer donations. Queensland needs a Greens Senator to fight for a fair society and to protect our precious environment.
As your first Greens Senator I will push for:
- new jobs in clean renewable energy
- affordable housing
- high quality public health and education
- protecting our food growing land from new coal mines and gas fields
- action on climate change to save our Great Barrier Reef
- a fair go for indigenous communities and new Australians.
Join the hundreds of thousands of Queenslanders who vote Green in the Senate and give yourself a progressive voice in Federal parliament.
