Candidate for Warringah

About

Matthew Drake-Brockman is a 33 year old father of one who is passionate about conserving Warringah’s unique land and marine environment.

He is committed to sustainable environmental policy at both the national and the local level and believes that both major parties have failed to take action to avert climate change and preserve the environment.

The time is right for governments to drive the switch to renewable energy, and take genuine action on waste minimisation and pollution. A vote for the Greens is a vote for a safe, clean environment and a strong economy. Matthew studies law at the University of NSW.

Policies

Warringah voters deserve a Green alternative to climate change skeptic, Tony Abbott. The Greens acknowledge the overwhelming body of scientific literature which supports human induced global warming.

Support for The Greens in Warringah continues to rise as voters become disillusioned with the two-party system. The Greens are a strong, commonsense, progressive voice on environmental and social policy.

In Parliament The Greens will:

  • Continue to call for the immediate implementation of carbon tax as recommended in the Garnaut report
  • Call for government to meet its obligations under international law and humane treatment of all refugees
  • Call for adequate funding for public transport and public health
