Candidate for Keppel

About

Paul Bambrick lives in Yeppoon with his partner and young family. He is an architectural technician and also runs a small business regenerating native forest.  He is a dedicated and active community volunteer with local youth, conservation and arts groups.

Driven by a love of nature, Paul has long campaigned for positive action on a range of environment and social changes especially in the area of sustainable building and urban design and a more inclusive society.

The Greens offers the people of Keppel a fresh new voice for the environment.

When not riding his pushbike and pulling out noxious weeds in his spare time he is playing guitar and singing with the local folk club.

Policies

Keppel, a region that's economically dependent on coal mining, beef and grain production and the Great Barrier Reef, presents the Greens with unique challenges and opportunities.

We must protect our diminishing forests, farmland and water quality and ween ourselves off the coal economy, create new jobs so that miners and their families can live in healthy environments free in the knowledge that they are not risking their health and lives in an industry that is causing hardship in other areas of the economy like tourism.

The Greens would initiate development of alternative energy including solar power stations in Central Queensland and enact container deposit and packaging legislation, creating jobs and reducing waste.

We oppose the proposed coal port in the Fitzroy River Delta and the marina and development on public land (lot 21) on Great Keppel Island.

Only the Greens will stand up for a fairer, cleaner world independent of vested interests.
