About
A leading academic in the field of educational technology, Rob Phillips has lived in Cowan for more than twenty years. He and his wife built their own passive solar home on native bushland in Wanneroo.
He has been active in the Scouts as well as soccer and cricket clubs and has a long history of involvement in multicultural activities. He has a deep interest in the arts, is the Director of an acoustic music festival and is active in several choirs and performing groups, including the Working Voices social justice choir.
Rob has stepped forward with The Greens to represent the people of Cowan because of his long-term commitment to the environment, and because of the damage caused by the use of fossil fuels.
“Not only is oil-dependency causing climate change; we need to adapt to a future without oil. I want to contribute to a world where my children and grandchildren have a future.”
Rob was also motivated by a profound dissatisfaction with the short-sighted, out-of-touch performance of the major political parties – and he believes The Greens offer an alternative to the dead-end two party system.
