Mike McEvoy

Yarra City Council, Nicholls Ward

I’m a Fitzroy North local, committed to helping facilitate community action to address climate change. I care about creating open and fair leadership and stand for creating a more inclusive government in Nicholls Ward.

Having lived in Fitzroy and North Fitzroy for 15 years and been strongly involved in community activities, Mike has a deep understanding of the needs and wants of the community. He is a strong advocate for arts and cultural sector and is committed to fighting for social and gender equity.

As an Honours graduate from the Victorian College of the Arts, Mike has a background in Arts Management and is involved in several small arts and non-profit organisations. Having worked extensively with community groups and corporate organisations, he knows that even small changes and decisions can have big impacts and is well-equipped to create positive outcomes for the area.

Dedicated to creating a sustainable future, Mike’s key areas of focus include improving public transport infrastructure, supporting reconciliation and tackling the issue of climate change within the community.

Mike has chosen to stand with the Greens due to a shared desire to create a more just and fair society. He believes in fostering open communication between residents and government and will stand up for matters that are important to the community.
