Candidate for Bundamba
I grew up in South East Queensland, and moved to Ipswich several years ago with my husband for his job. We’ve been warmly welcomed by the community, and I love living in this part of Queensland.
When our triplets were born prematurely, the amazing team at Ipswich Hospital looked after them. They’re now attending school and their individual needs are met by our state’s amazing public school teachers. I want to ensure that all families are afforded the same excellent care, and we can do this by keeping our health and education systems in public hands.
Ipswich offers many opportunities, but we need to work to guarantee everyone can access them. Affordable housing and a smooth transition to new industries and jobs are some of the key areas I will be focusing on as the candidate for Bundamba.
In addition to this, we need to ensure new property development is sustainable and welcomed by the community - not just rubber stamped by our Council and State government. We can do this by moving towards a Parliament that puts people before profit. The Greens want to ban political donations from property developers, gambling and alcohol companies so that the wellbeing of the community is put before corporate interests.
I’m proud to stand as the Greens candidate for Bundamba this state election.
