Candidate for Bragg
I’ve spent more than three decades running small to medium businesses and, more recently, working in the public service as a certified property valuer. I migrated to Australia from the Netherlands in 1978 and have lived in the electorate of Bragg since 1990. I have always considered Adelaide to be the best place in the world to raise my two daughters.
However, I sense a growing frustration with the politics of the old parties and I strongly believe that it’s time to put the focus back on people and the environment, and for those in power to think about future generations.
Of particular concern to me is the growing economic and social inequality, an ineffective and unfair education system (especially the gradual dismantling of TAFE), the increasing power of multi-national corporate interests, the inability of the current younger generation to enter into home ownership and the general lack of affordable long-term rental housing.
The Greens have sensible and effective policies in all these areas and, if elected, I will work hard to help bring about positive change.
I am proud to stand as the Greens candidate for Bragg in this State election.
