Candidate for Mawson
I come from a large family and grew up on the Fleurieu Peninsula. I went to Aldinga Kindy, lived most of my developing years in Willunga and completed year 12 at Tatachilla Lutheran College in their first graduating class.
I am a qualified rehabilitation counsellor, and have worked in variety of roles in the human services sector including general counselling and trauma counselling. As a result I can appreciate the many challenges and milestones people can face in their lives.
After leaving school, like many, I moved to the city for work and study. My husband and I always worked towards the opportunity to come back down south, which we finally achieved in 2016. I have travelled across the globe but will always call the Fleurieu home.
We depend on our pristine environment for agriculture, tourism and our own wellbeing. The Fleurieu is an amazing place with great people willing to be trailblazers in meaningful initiatives like local sustainability and renewable energy. It’s a wonderful place to grow up in and live.
I chose to represent Mawson as the Greens candidate because I believe that the electorate of Mawson needs a positive and active advocate to represent its issues and needs. Not business as usual or piecemeal advocacy, but someone who is willing to genuinely listen to the community and help their voices to be heard in policy and decision making.
I’m proud to represent the Greens in Mawson.
