Field Campaigner - the Greens (WA)

 We are looking for a passionate, organised, and experienced campaigner to join The Greens (WA) campaign team as our Field Campaigner. This role will work with the Field Director to provide day-to-day support to the 15 lower house candidates, including our key seats and future winnable seat, to achieve our field goals and overall goals for our Federal Election. 

The Field Campaigner will grow our volunteer movement and be instrumental in campaign teams achieving their voter contact goals. They will be the first point of contact for all campaign teams and new volunteers. This is an exciting role for a passionate and driven campaigner who wants to grow our Green movement.

Responsibilities of the role include: 

● Help teams achieve their voter contact goals and targets 

● Support teams through delivering training 

● Support communication between campaign teams and GWA, including regular check ins and meeting with campaign teams 

● Offer technical and administrative support to campaign teams 

● Work with the Greens (WA) team to coordinate Greens (WA) events, including fundraisers

Selection criteria: 


● Understanding of and commitment to The Greens (WA) principles, policies and an understanding of the Western Australian political landscape. 

● Experience campaigning with a political party or advocacy organisation. You’ll have a strong understanding of how to work with people and teams in a campaign environment. 

● Experience in leading a team of staff or volunteers, including the ability to deliver training, develop volunteer skills, inspire and bring out the best in each individual team member. 

● Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage people and logistics to meet tight deadlines, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. 

● Strong communication skills. You’ll have demonstrated experience in strong verbal communication within a team environment. 

● Ability to multitask, create and achieve goals, meet deadlines and creatively solve problems that arise. 

The following would also be desirable: 

● Experience delivering the following field campaign tactics; door-knocking, phone-banking and community events. 

● Experience using a CRM system or similar in your work or volunteering role.

The role is covered by The Greens (WA) Agreement 2020. The Greens (WA) office is in Perth, with flexible work arrangements.

Hours of Work: 1.0 FTE 

Start Date: From October 2021 

Contract end date: One week after the next Federal Election 

Superannuation: 10% to the scheme of your choice. 

Classification/Salary: Project Support 1 ($69,828.21 at 1 July 2021) 

Employment Status: Contract position.
