International Development Committee Experts

The Australian Greens International Development Committee (IDC) is currently seeking applications from individuals with relevant knowledge and expertise of countries in Asia, Pacific, and/ or the Middle East regions in which we are supporting emerging Green parties to take up a voluntary “expert” role with the IDC.

The Federal Government provides funds to the Australian Greens under the Australian Political Parties for Democracy Program (APPDP). These funds are managed for the Australian Greens by the International Development Committee (IDC).

The role of the IDC is outlined in the attached Terms of Reference.

Members of the IDC are required to attend one online conference bimonthly of roughly one hour currently at 4-5 PM AEST, engage regularly on email regarding IDC matters, sit on at least one project team relating to a specific party or issue that meets monthly, and is where much of the in-country work takes place.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Applications will be assessed against the following selection criteria:

  1. A commitment to the core values of The Greens and to be a current member of the Australian Greens.
  2. Extensive experience in International relations or overseas development assistance.
  3. A thorough understanding of donor priorities and frameworks, particularly in a developing country context.
  4. Knowledge and demonstrated experience in negotiating funding contracts with government and other funders.
  5. Practical experience in developing and keeping appropriate records of program proposals, operational plans, and activity reports.
  6. Experience in implementing and /or monitoring and evaluation of international programs.
  7. Knowledge and skills in financial management of program funding, including budgeting and financial acquittals.
  8. Demonstrated experience in cross-cultural liaison.
  9. Strong support and mentoring skills in a cross-cultural context.
  10. A commitment to clear, concise, and timely communication.
