Victorian Greens leader Greg Barber says Victorian wind farms approved but not yet built need an extension of time on their planning permits.
“There are permits for more than 2300 wind turbines in Victoria that have not yet been built and most of those will see their permits expire in the next term of government,” Mr Barber said.
“We need a commitment from whoever is planning minister that they will extend the life of all wind farm planning permits through to 2020.
“Wind companies have spent millions on studies and design to get their permits. We shouldn't make them go through all that red tape again.
“Uncertainty about the Renewable Energy Target is the reason these turbines haven't been built and that's due to Labor and Liberal sending mixed signals,” Mr Barber said.
