Closing Date

Monday, December,17 2018 - 09:00 am

Passionate about the environment? Social justice? Electing good people to represent The Greens in parliament? Have skills and experience in social media and digital campaigning?

This could be you.

You want to be part of a campaign team working to elect Mehreen Faruqi to the Senate and seven (maybe more!) Greens MPs to NSW Parliament. You are keen to actively support over a hundred candidates across NSW for upcoming Federal and State elections.

You have experience producing Social Media (primarily Facebook and Instagram) content for an organisation, ideally the Greens or an NGO.

You’re self-motivated, someone who sets and achieves targets, takes pride in your work and thrives under pressure – all with minimal supervision.

All successful applicants must have the following:

  • A commitment to The Greens and the advancement of Greens policies and principles
  • Understanding of NSW and Australian political issues and the political system
  • Experience working or volunteering to support an election, social justice, environment, and/ or community campaign, ideally a Greens election campaign
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively with a busy and energetic team of paid staff and volunteers under pressure

Essential Criteria

Content creation – You write succinct, original content that increases reach and/or engagement, depending on the goals set.

Design & Layout – You use Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite to produce social media content, including Facebook squares and Insta posts.

Social Media monitoring – You monitor comments and respond where appropriate. You can train and supervise a team of volunteers to monitor multiple sites.

Great if you have one or more of the following:

Memes – This is your bag. Making memes and other things the kids are down with

Call to Action email writing – Your emails have high open rates and above-average click throughs.

Digital / email fundraising – You’re great at asking for money. Especially if it’s going to a great cause, and you can make your case across email, landing pages, social media posts, online ads and more.

Digital Advertising Production – You know the correct way to pronounce ‘Gif’ and can produce digital ads for Google Display, Facebook and other platforms.

Content Management – You can upload, edit and manage web content for our election website. Experience in Drupal (particularly Drupal 8) would be desirable.

Relationship to others

You’ll report to The Greens NSW State Campaign Manager via the Communications Coordinator. You’ll work closely with the Communications team as well as other Greens staff, candidates, and local campaigns.
