Hi, I'm Emily Rivera and am your Greens candidate for Camden this state election. As a dedicated and passionate candidate for the Greens NSW, I am fully committed to advancing the core values of the Australian Greens - protecting our precious environment, promoting social and economic justice, and working towards a more peaceful and sustainable future for all.
When it comes to the environment, my key priority is the preservation and protection of the precious koala habitat in the Wollondilly region of NSW. I understand the importance of taking immediate and effective action to prevent further destruction of natural habitats, as well as working tirelessly to restore and rehabilitate areas that have been damaged. Furthermore, I am deeply committed to addressing the ongoing climate emergency and taking bold actions to transition to a low carbon economy and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. I will also hold businesses accountable for their impact on the environment and support community-led renewable energy projects. In addition, I firmly believe that overdevelopment of land must be strictly limited in order to safeguard our natural resources for future generations and to protect biodiversity.
In terms of social and economic justice, I am deeply committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in government and creating a more equal society. This includes getting money out of politics and opposing any form of dark money, PACs, gifts, or other corrupting influences. I will advocate for fair and progressive taxation, affordable housing, and universal access to healthcare and education. I will also work to improve access to medical and emergency specialists in more remote areas like Camden and will work to ensure that these communities have the resources they need to thrive. Lastly, I will stand up against the gambling industry, which has run rampant in NSW for far too long, and work to hold it accountable for its actions and the harm it causes to individuals and communities.
As your candidate, I am fully committed to promoting policies and initiatives that align with the values and principles of the Australian Greens. I believe that by working together, we can build a more sustainable, just and equitable society.
