Hi, I'm Kirsten.
I passionately believe in free, universal, high-quality healthcare and public education. Together, we can ensure that hospital waiting lists at Blacktown Hospital are cut, and that access to world-class health and education doesn’t depend on being wealthy.
I’ve lived with my husband and two teenage daughters in the Blacktown area for the last six years. I love Blacktown for its rich diversity and sense of community. As a disability support and community worker, I see how hard it can be for people to access appropriate healthcare and other essential services. Public money needs to be invested in areas that are fundamental to our community, including health and disability services, public transport, affordable housing, and emergency accommodation for people experiencing domestic violence.
Raising my family here, I understand what it's like to grow up in Western Sydney. I want young people such as my daughters to have more and better local opportunities for fully funded post-school education, from TAFE to University.
I want them to flourish in a liveable climate, to breath clean air, and to be safe from all forms of violence. I want them to have access to affordable housing and efficient public transport.
As your member for Blacktown, I will fight to:
- Ensure that hospital services are adequately funded to serve our growing community
- Increase investment in early-childhood and school-based education, so that world-class public education is freely available to all
- Tackle climate change by making solar panels affordable for more families and encouraging a rapid transition to electric cars
- Ensure that planning benefits the community and the environment, not just wealthy developers
I’ll represent our community’s values in parliament and hold the larger parties to account. Together we can create a fairer, greener, cleaner future for us all.
