Hello, my name is Zai.

I am 20 years old, and I believe I can bring a fresh voice into politics. I love the Gold Coast. It's where I work, play sport and engage in volunteer work.

I will finish my law degree this year, and I'm keen to start putting my skills into practice. I'm passionate about fighting for accountability in government. So many political decisions are made just to please corporate donors. I am proud that the Greens refuse corporate donations. This means that the only consideration in our minds is how to better the public interest. This should be the primary goal of all of our leaders. Politicians should be public servants, not corporate servants.

Mermaid Beach is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and this must be preserved. Government should put people and communities first. Our region is not merely a cash cow to exploit. We must stand up for our area and ensure it is managed in the public interest. The Greens have a trusted reputation for doing this, and we intend to continue.

The environmental and social issues we face as a society are extremely worrying. Our political system must address this. The Greens are committed to a rock-solid focus on these issues. They affect every single person, and fighting for them should be a matter of common sense, not politics.

We can have more public housing, publicly owned essential utilities, and properly funded public schools and hospitals. The Greens have a costed and comprehensive plan to make our state a better place for all of us.

A vote for the Greens is a vote for us all. It is a vote for the future, our future.
