Brock Le Cerf

Candidate for Elder

Hi, I'm Brock.

I believe that in our lifetimes we are all going to witness the terrible effects of climate change and growing wealth inequality. Together, we can ensure that we take action to protect the future of those that come next.

I live in Lower Mitcham, which is a very beautiful part of a beautiful city. This is in no small part because of the protection and care provided to trees and greenspace. I reside within the electorate of Elder

Earlier in life, I dedicated my time and energy into the study of science. Throughout my studies I gained a deep appreciation of the complexity and beauty of the natural world. After graduating with a Masters of Bioinformatics in 2018, I started a position in Canberra with Services Australia. I worked with the systems and processes that are supposed to be there for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in our community, and found them lacking, not because of the many fantastic people that worked there, but because of the awful, anti-poor policies of the government. I now work as a Business Analyst working in the education sector to support the development of next generation software for schools.

Australian politics can no longer afford the status quo. Both major parties are kicking the can down the road when it comes to taking the necessary actions to tackle climate change and reduce wealth inequality. It doesn’t have to be this way, a strong Greens presence can help make the change we all know is overdue.

Together, we can…

1. Tackle climate change by rapidly transitioning to publicly owned renewable energy

3. World class free education from early childhood through to university and TAFE

3. Fund world class public schools, hospitals, public transport and social services

I would be honored to represent our community’s in parliament, and fight to create a fairer and cleaner future for all of us.
