Hi, I’m Kay.
I am running as the candidate for the seat of Dunstan in the South Australian State Election. I’ve always loved Dunstan, the green belt, the diverse cultures, and community.
I am committed to the future of Dunstan’s heritage and diversity. My background includes many years working in Sydney in hospitality and the Wine Industry, promoting many premium South Australian brands. Since returning to Adelaide in 2013 I’ve been reminded of my forebears, the Clarke Family who In 1850 they established a vineyard where Norwood Oval is now located.
My North Star is involved in standing up for and protecting the planet for my own children and all the children of the world.
I have dedicated the past few years to alerting Australians around the nation of the inaction and incompetence of our two major parties. In 2019 I traveled 19,000km around Australia solo in my campervan for six months. Dubbed “The Green Nomad” I collected hundreds of signatures addressed to the Prime Minister, asking him to seek UN World Heritage Protection for The Bight and to declare a Climate Emergency.
South Australian politics needs a shakeup as both major parties are putting the interests of their corporate donors ahead of our community and state.
Together, we can:
- Tackle climate change and head off the environmental crisis by rapidly transitioning to public-owned renewable energy and especially by supporting all forms of Electric Vehicles.
- Fund and focus on developing world-class public schools, TAFE, hospitals, government-owned aged care facilities and providing free public transport.
- Restore integrity to politics by banning donations from vested interests such the fossil fuel industry.
- Work with First Peoples to establish a path for sovereignty and meaningful treaties.
I will represent our community’s values in parliament and hold the major parties to account. I will ensure the next government goes further and faster on tackling zero tolerance of violence against women, as well as equal pay and the promotion of women through and beyond the glass ceiling. I will ensure the next government tackles all aspects of the environmental crisis we are in.
Together we can create a fairer, healthier and cleaner future for all of us
