Tracey Davis

Candidate for Croydon

Hi, I'm Tracey Davis.

I am committed to recognising social justice and equality rights for the people of the Croydon electorate. Climate change and environmental protection through greening and active transport are areas that I will champion in my campaign.

I have been a resident of Kilkenny for 22 years. For the past 10 years I have been active in the community, leading several art and greening projects that have improved the amenity and connectivity of my neighbourhood. In 2017 I was the recipient of Citizen of the Year in the City of Charles Sturt for services to my local neighbourhood. My grass-roots engagement within the community seeks to educate and integrate positive ideals to the public.

In my experience, the electors of Croydon are good people who want to bring positive change for a better world to their communities and beyond, and I believe that as their representative in parliament, we can do great things together.

I have a recent degree in visual communications and honours in art and design. Currently I work as a book designer, SSO at a western suburbs high school and as a freelance creative. Previously I have worked in the performing arts sector and in health promotions. Visit teedavis.com.au for more information on my practices.

I am a community minded alternative to the major parties in the Croydon electorate. Overcoming the current Member for Croydon may be a tough task, but I believe it’s important for the concerns of the community, and core issues like climate action are heard and acted upon.

Together, we can…

  • Tackle climate change by rapidly transitioning to publicly owned renewable energy and by greening our suburban streets
  • Ensure everyone has a home
  • World class free education from early childhood through to university and TAFE
  • Work with First Peoples to establish a path for sovereignty and meaningful treaties
  • Cool our suburbs through the greening of our streets

I will fight for the greening of our neighbourhoods, greater public and active-transport options for the people of Croydon, and I will support moves that make it easier for all South Australians to own and run an electric vehicle. I will advocate for more social housing and greater opportunities for those who are less fortunate.

Together we can build a better world.
