Liz Johnstone

Councillor, Break O'Day Council

Hi Im Liz!

I live and work on the East Coast in the village of Falmouth and I'm proud to be the Greens candidate for Councillor and Mayor in the Break O' Day Local Government Election. I'm a mother and a grandmother and I've spent my life fighting for social justice and campaigning to protect and restore Tasmania's wildplaces, coast lines, rivers, oceans and carbon-rich forests.

We're in the midst of a climate crisis, and social inequality is being felt right across Tasmania. The council area of Break O' Day deserves a councillor and Mayor who will tackle climate change, and build strong, resilient, caring communities to better protect us from the challenges we face today and into the future. The communities in Break O' Day are up against climate change, environmental degradation of our coastlines, forests and agricultural land. Cost of living increases, social inequity, housing and rental affordability impact our communities in a real way. I will together with the Greens fight for a better and fairer future for all in Break O' Day.
