Councillor for Cardinia Shire, Central Ward
Michael is a passionate local who cares about the community he lives in. As an Emergency Nurse specialising in Paediatrics and having worked within the Cardinia Shire Council providing support to young people with a disability, Michael has a solid understanding of the support needs of families.
It is Michael's passion to deliver better outcomes for people that drove him to stand for Council. As a Registered Nurse, he sees on a daily basis how the health care system is failing many. He is a passionate supporter of preventative health and believes healthcare should be a key priority. Mental health is also an issue he cares about, and he believes policies to tackle the lack of early intervention and tele-psychiatry services are best managed at a local government level.
Michael is also passionate about promoting the importance of buying locally grown food and giving small business in Cardinia a fair go. In addition to this Michael will campaign to see improved local literacy programs, to help young people struggling with reading and writing.
