Barry Berih

Candidate for Melbourne City Council

Hi, i'm barry.

I’m a youth worker and public housing resident from North Melbourne, passionate about disability rights, youth employment and public housing.

I have dedicated my career to empowering young people, and in 2020 I was recognised with the YMCA Multicultural Youth Award. I was born with mild cerebral palsy and I am an advocate for equal rights and a quality NDIS.

I am also a very proud Eritrean-Australian and I aspire to be the first African-Australian to serve on Melbourne City Council.

Having personally experienced some of the many challenges that face our diverse, multicultural city, I have a strong sense of community and desire to make a positive impact. I am committed to representing my community to make Melbourne fairer and greener.

Your vote is powerful.
