I’m Crystal Cartwright, a proud Beaumaris local, mother and passionate community member.
I live in Beckett ward with my husband and two young children and I love our village like shopping strips, treelined streets, parks and spectacular coastline. My children attend the local kinder and sporting clubs and I’m an active member and supporter of our local community groups. I want my family to grow up in a healthy, safe and environmentally sustainable and inclusive community.
My experience as a former police officer and public policy professional in health and human services means that I understand the impact of local government on people’s health and wellbeing. I have a strong history of advocacy and volunteer work, stretching across children and family services, family violence, mental health, disability and community safety to support people of all ages, needs and abilities. I’m passionate about representing our community to make Bayside a healthier, safer and more connected place to live and work.
Many residents feel they don’t have a say in decisions that affect them. My vision is for a transparent and progressive council that puts caring for people and our communities at the centre of all its decisions. I care about Bayside’s future and will work hard to:
- Build a stronger community voice and support policies that promote social inclusion and community participation
- Support and invest in local businesses, community groups, sporting clubs and the arts and culture
- Move Bayside into the future by improving our environmental performance
- Protect our neighbourhood character and advocate for sustainable development that supports the needs of our community, now and into the future
I’m a friendly and approachable community member who wants Bayside to remain a wonderful place to live and work. With your support, I’ll represent you with honesty and hard work, and lead with integrity.
I hope I can count on your vote this October.
