Huong Truong

Former member of the Legislative Council (2018–2018)

Huong Truong was appointed to the Victorian Legislative Council in 2018, filling the vacancy resulting from Colleen Hartland’s resignation.

The child of Vietnamese refugees, Huong grew up in the western suburbs of Melbourne. In 2005, she graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Arts, followed by a Master of Social Science in Environment and Planning from RMIT in 2009. She also worked as the sustainability coordinator at Brimbank City Council from 2008 to 2018. 

Huong was defeated at the 2018 Victorian state election. She ran in the 2020 Victorian local government elections for Brimbank City Council.
