Katherine Copsey

Councillor for Port Phillip City Council - Lake ward

Katherine is the sitting Greens councillor for Lake Ward and has served the community of Port Phillip since 2016.

She grew up in the inner south and has lived in Middle Park and Albert Park for many years. Katherine is passionate about Port Phillip’s diverse, caring and connected communities and beautiful but fragile natural environment.

A former planning and environment lawyer, Katherine will fight for climate action and local efforts to reduce emissions. She knows that people in Port Phillip deserve a Council that will invest in climate action based on science, active and sustainable transport that gets people where they need to go and transparent and inclusive local democracy. The achievement she is most proud of in her first term is getting the City of Port Phillip on 100% renewable energy - now the focus is on reducing community emissions!

Katherine will keep pushing to address inequality through mental health, housing and homelessness support so no one in our community is left behind. She is excited to continue to stand up for Greens values and our community in another term at the City of Port Phillip.
