Maegan Boundey

Candidate for Ballarat City Council - Alfredton Ward

Hi, I'm Maegan,

I’m a First Nations (Yamatji) woman, a solo mother by choice and a down-to-earth community member.

Our local area deserves a representative who will listen to them, rather than corporations and property developers. I will be an approachable representative, who is accessible, ready to listen and take local concerns to council.

I am deeply engaged in our community. I run a local small business, attend children’s activities with my son, and volunteer for various causes including Free Palestine Ballarat, Sovereign Hill, and Debaters Association of Victoria.

I used to be a social worker in challenging environments such as youth detention and homelessness, and I have experience in interpersonal diplomacy, communication and empathy, and an understanding of how policy impacts people’s lives.

As your councillor, I will fight to protect and maintain Victoria Park and ensure Alfredton is walkable, well serviced, and accessible to everyone, particularly  low-income, multicultural and diverse families.

Your vote is powerful.
