Dale Martin

Councillor for Moreland, North-West Ward

"I'm a local and I'm proud of my community. I want to challenge the status quo, embed future thinking and bring ideas, innovation and integrity to the chamber."

First elected to the Moreland City Council in 2016, Cr Martin has experience in a diverse range of roles and organisations in the private and government sectors. He is driven by innovative ideas, a strong strategic focus and a desire to challenge the current business as usual model of governance.

Cr Martin currently works as an energy and environmental consultant in the public sector. Having previously studied economics, finance, energy and environmental management systems, Cr Martin is well equipped to assist our community in tackling the threat of climate change and it's impact on our growing community.

At the City of Moreland, Cr Martin is Chair of the Urban Planning Committee, Councillor responsible for Economic Development, Councillor representative on the Metro Waste and Resource Recovery Group (MWRRG), Northern Alliance for Greenhouse Action (NAGA) and non-executive director of the Moreland Energy Foundation (MEFL).

His motions in the chamber have included design excellence scorecards, various speed limit reductions, raising the rainbow flag, an overhaul of the fleet policy, and moving to zero waste to landfill by 2030.
