This is not a drill.
Declaring a climate emergency means recognising that the climate crisis is the fight of our lives. It's an acknowledgment that the situation is urgent and requires action.
Like declaring a state of emergency after a bushfire or flood, it says that we all need to mobilise to address the threat in front of us.
Whether it's a council or State Parliament, declaring a climate emergency is more than just words. By recognising the climate crisis, it puts action on climate change at the centre of all government policy and planning decisions.
Big change starts from telling the truth!
This is why the Greens WA have put forward a motion calling for the declaration of a climate emergency.
We have 2 weeks to compel our state decision makers to support this motion.
Sign up to the campaign and we'll send you a template email to send to your local MP and keep you updated on the motion.
