Hi, I'm Alysia
We need to push for better outcomes in Ivison Ward.
I will champion your voice. I’m a proud Bayside local with a history in advocacy across the not-for-profit, community and early childhood education sectors.
Through my work for local government in our region I was nominated for the 2024 Kingston Woman of the Year, Citizen of the Year Awards and the Victorian Disability Awards for promoting rights for people with disability.
Our Council also has an important role in providing family-friendly services, inclusive spaces and promoting active, sustainable transport for all.
Facilities in Bayside like those at Peterson Reserve require significant improvements to enable young people and people with disabilities to participate fully in our community.
I will advocate for affordable housing, and planning decisions that consider social equity, sustainability and public interest.
I will work for increased open space, protecting biodiversity and improving safety for pedestrians, children, and cyclists.
Together, let’s champion climate action, increase green spaces and make all of Bayside a welcoming and inclusive place. Your vote is powerful.
My plan for Ivison Ward:
Grow active green neighbourhoods:
- Increase our green spaces and protect biodiversity
- Highett has the lowest tree canopy of all Bayside suburbs. We need to cool our city by bolstering tree canopy.
- Promote active, sustainable transport and improve safety for pedestrians, children and cyclists
- Lead on climate action
Advocate for human-scale, sustainable developments:
- Human-scale developments that are sustainable and climate-appropriate, and respect local heritage
- Affordable housing and planning decisions that consider social equity, sustainability and public interest
Build a thriving local community:
- Invest in quality services that care for our communities’ health and wellbeing
- Revitalise our vibrant shopping streets
- Support local arts and culture
Champion local democracy:
- Support services for all parts of our community
- Family friendly facilities and inclusive spaces
- Prioritise transparency and accountability on Council
