Ellen Burns

Candidate for Wendouree

This is an image of Ellen, a warmly smiling woman in an outdoor environment. Ellen has long, dark brown hair parted in the middle with some tucked behind her ear to reveal a green stone earring. She wears a dark blazer, a green blouse and a nose ring.

I am a local mum, sustainability educator and food security advocate.

I am running for politics because we deserve leadership that takes the serious issues seriously: climate action, the housing crisis, food security and community resilience.

I’m an energetic community organiser – I run Smart Living Ballarat and The Hidden Orchard to help tackle the cost of living while reducing waste, and source food and waste-free packaging for Meredith Music Festival.

I’m deeply engaged across the community, and intimately understand the pressure of inadequate public transport, high cost of living, and unaffordable housing.

Our community needs a fresh new representative who understands this community, won't take it for granted and will fight hard for the things that matter.
