Good suburbs are well connected by paths, public transport and community facilities.
But instead we have the ACT Labor Government cutting West Belconnen from the rapid bus network and have no idea if, how and when they'll link light rail to the Belco region.
We have a government that is slow to respond to Big Splash, Hawker Tennis Courts, and McKellar shops being neglected by owners.
It's decisions like this which make our suburbs not so good—and make it harder for you to enjoy the things you do in your everyday. Whether it's going to work, school, health appointments, sports, or running errands, the better infrastructure and facilities we have in our community, the better you will be!
GREENS RESPONDING TO CURRENT BELCO ISSUES:
> The ACT Greens are working with the community to Save Big Splash and see it reopen as soon as possible. See our listening report on what Canberrans want for the future of Big Splash and what action they want the ACT Labor Government to take.
> Jo has been vocal against the Labor Government's decision to cut the R2 and R3 bus services from West Belconnen, Evatt, Spence and Florey—with the rapid service now terminating and departing at Belconnen town centre. She will move a vote in Parliament this February to reinstate rapid services to their original route.
> We're also backing community campaigns to see Ginninderra Falls—West Belco's waterfall on the Murrumbidgee River—reopen once again to Canberrans, keep it an ecological haven and protect its rich First Nations history.
> With your help we've already got the government to commit to a complete and direct active travel path between West Belconnen and Belco town centre!
We need your help to show the ACT Labor Government that they need to invest much more in the things that make our suburbs great to live in—active travel, footpaths, bike paths, public transport links and places to do the things you need to do!
