Fund services, not horse racing

BACK PEOPLE OVER HORSE RACING

Tell ACT Labor to end their special deal with the industry and fund the things people need 🏅

The ACT Labor Government must stop propping up an industry that delivers no public good, and instead back services people actually want and need.

The ACT Labor Government funnelled more than $8.5 million to the horse racing industry in Canberra this year.

They have the backing of the Liberals and Independents to invest in an industry that generates revenue from gambling and animal harm.

ACT Labor gave more funding to the horseracing industry this year than they did to our entire professional and community sports sector!

In a budget of 'tough' decisions, where rates have gone up and services were cut, the ACT Labor Government reckons it's fair to keep sending taxpayer money into the pockets of an industry that delivers no public good.

And right now the horse racing industry is ripping you off even more by adding some fancy, and very likely unaffordable, apartments next to the race track just so they can stay afloat.

You have the power to change this bad deal. All you have to do is add your name and click send!

Your voice could see more and affordable housing choice on this prime land - close to the city and served by light rail. It can deliver publicly accessible parks, playgrounds and multi-sport facilities.

You can be the driving force that delivers more educational and health facilities since others nearby are already under serious strain.

The Greens want people to get a better deal - where government puts people, and the services they need first.
