The private housing market has failed Australians. We need more homes that charge rent based on your income.

If you've ever wondered what it’s going take to finally end this housing crisis, you're not alone.

For decades, Labor and the Liberals have used tax breaks to warp housing from an essential human right into a wealth-building market for investors. They’ve outsourced housing to private developers who cash in on our fundamental need for shelter. It’s all wrong, but it can change.

To change the system, we need to look at who benefits. It’s time to put developers on the hook to build and fund more public housing.

Developers don’t build homes out of the goodness of their hearts. They make money from this community, and the ACT Government should make sure they leave a better legacy than a city full of unaffordable homes.

Sign our petition to change the rules and make developers contribute to public housing across Canberra.
