The latest update on the Parliamentary and Governing Agreement (PAGA) for the 10th ACT Legislative Assembly outlines strong progress on the agreement.
This includes increasing housing options for Canberrans, taking proactive steps towards climate change action, the introduction of an electric vehicle strategy for the ACT and extending homelessness services.
The PAGA was signed by all ACT Labor and ACT Greens MLAs represented in the ACT Legislative Assembly following the 2020 Election, summarising the shared priorities and commitments of the two parties.
“The ACT Greens are really proud to be delivering on the commitments we put forward for our Canberra community this term. Of particular note, this year we have announced a plan to transition away from fossil fuel gas and a strategy to phase out internal combustion engine vehicles - two key Commitments from the Parliamentary Agreement for the 10th Assembly,” said ACT Greens Leader, Shane Rattenbury.
"I’m also really pleased that this year we opened Australia’s first fixed pill testing site here in Canberra as part of this Government’s commitment to harm reduction. These are just a few significant reforms of many that reflect that Canberra is a progressive jurisdiction, with a progressive two-party government.
"I look forward to continuing our joint work over the next two years to fulfil our remaining commitments in the PAGA.”
