Janet Shelley

Candidate for Elwick

On 4 May, the people of Elwick will elect a new Member to represent them in the Legislative Council.

Sustainability expert and Elwick resident Janet Shelley is our candidate.

Janet has an impressive resume, having worked across the territories of Australia from Antarctica to the Coral Sea to remote Indigenous communities, and is internationally recognised for her work in improving the environmental impacts of weather balloons.

Janet’s passion for environmental protection, social justice and reconciliation is evidenced by her long history of grassroots community involvement including beach clean-ups, forest campaigns, domestic violence charities, and local fire prevention and traffic management groups.

As a renter and dog-lover, Janet is also a keen advocate for renters’ rights in her quest to offer a fur-ever home.

Janet will be a champion for:

• Affordable rents and homes for our people
• Strong action on climate change
• Public transport that meets our current and future needs
• Investing much-needed funds into our health and education systems over a costly stadium
• Actively supporting diversity and inclusion in our community
• Demanding transparency, accountability and integrity in politics

If elected, Janet will be a strong and independent Green voice for our community.

For Courage and integrity in Elwick
Vote 1 for Janet on 4 May
