In Kurrajong

The electorate of Kurrajong is centered around the city and the Parliamentary Triangle, encompassing all of the inner north, eastern suburbs of the inner south, and extending to the eastern border of the ACT.

ACT Greens Leader Shane Rattenbury MLA and Deputy Leader Rebecca Vassarotti MLA are your lead candidates in Kurrajong, standing to represent the local community and ensure all Canberrans can live a good life with great public services, affordable housing and a thriving local environment.

We’ve got big plans for Kurrajong and it’s all possible, if you vote for it.

THE ACT GREENS WILL:

  • Prioritise homes, not horse racing, by developing the site of the racetrack into a new inner north suburb, complete with schools, public and community housing, improved biodiversity and green space, community facilities, walkable and cycling-friendly streets - all serviced by two existing light rail stops
  • Create a Nighttime Manager and provide events funding to support Nighttime economy and live music in the city and surrounds
  • Deliver cycling lanes separated from the traffic along Northbourne Avenue
  • Provide free walk-in mental health support with a new ‘Safe Haven’ in Dickson
  • Establish four bulk-billed GP clinics - two in Canberra’s north and two in the south
  • Improve the health of the local environment by re-naturalising a section of Sullivans Creek and planning re-naturalisation of the concrete channel in Telopea Park
  • Upgrade local sports facilities including Manuka Oval, Reid Oval, Carter Field and Powell & Watt Field
  • Improve pedestrian safety and disability access across Antill Street, around Goodwin Village in Ainslie and the carpark at Majura Playing Fields
  • Build public toilets at Downer and at Maliyan Park at North Watson
  • Work with schools including Majura Primary, North Ainslie Primary, Lyneham Primary and Lyneham Highschool to ensure that expansion and renewal of public schools is done in close partnership with local communities to meet the needs of growing neighbourhoods
  • Revitalise Canberra City Farm at Dairy Road and establish a new farmer training centre onsite
  • Create a large new community garden in the inner north to meet demand

ALL OF THIS IS POSSIBLE, you just have to vote for it.
