I’m Hugo and I’m running for the Greens in the Senate at the upcoming election.
The cost of living is out of control. I currently work two different retail jobs to make ends meet. With the cost of rents and groceries skyrocketing, so many Australians are seeing more and more of their pay going to keeping a roof over their heads.
In a wealthy country like ours, everyone should have access to the fundamental basics like a home, food, and access to world class health and education
The major parties have lost touch with ordinary working Australians.
People are crying out for real cost-of-living relief, but the major parties are too concerned with protecting the status quo to make any meaningful changes.
All signs are pointing to a minority government at this election. The Greens already hold the balance of power in the Senate, and we have a real shot at the balance of power in the House of Representatives too.
We can use that power to negotiate in good faith with the party in government to put the interests of everyday people first - getting cost of living under control, fixing the housing crisis, and investing in the public services that everyone needs to live a good life.
