Our Braddon Candidates

BRADDON

Vote [ 1 ] VANESSA BLEYER

Vanessa Bleyer for Braddon

Hi, I’m Vanessa Bleyer – your Greens Candidate for Braddon

I’m a seasoned environmental lawyer and passionate advocate dedicated to protecting Tasmania’s unique natural environment.

I live in beautiful Stanley, and I’m passionate about Braddon and protecting what makes it special.

With over 20 years of experience, I’ve spent my career fighting for better outcomes for both the community and the ecosystem. I run my own law practice, with offices in Launceston and Melbourne, specialising in environmental, migration, wills, and commercial law.

My commitment to environmental protection began at age 10, when I wrote a poem about the endangered Tasmanian wedge-tailed eagle. Since then, I’ve been driven by the goal of improving society through law and politics. I moved to Tasmania in 2010 to help stop the proposed Tamar Valley pulp mill and have been fully dedicated to Tasmanian campaigns ever since.

Through my law practice, I’ve advocated for the protection of Robbins Island and Takayna / Tarkine. I’m ready to move my deep expertise and passion for change from the courtroom to the Parliament – fighting for the future of Tasmania’s environment and its communities.

I’m a seasoned campaigner, and I’ve been our Senate candidate in the last two Federal Elections.

This election, we can stop the stadium, invest in health and housing, and protect our environment.

All this is possible.
Vote Greens.

[ 2 ] Scott Jordan

Hi, I'm Scott – a long-time environmental campaigner based in Burnie.

I’ve spent decades working to protect our forests and coastlines through my work with the Bob Brown Foundation.  I’m proud to be fighting for a better future for Braddon.

[ 3 ] Erin Morrow

Hi, I'm Erin – a psychologist from Devonport.

In my work and in our community, I see how much people are struggling — with housing, mental health, and the cost of living. I’m running to help deliver real, practical change that puts people first.

[ 4 ] Petra Wilden

Hi, I'm Petra – an educator based in Devonport.

I care deeply about sustainability, civic participation and accessible education. I’m running to give people a genuine alternative to the same old politics, and help create a fairer, greener future.

[ 5 ] Susanne Ward

Hi, I'm Susanne – a small business operator and housing advocate from Devonport.

Managing a caravan park has given me insight into how the housing crisis is affecting Tasmanians. I’m standing with the Greens because we need more homes, not handouts to big developers and sports executives.

[ 6 ] THOMAS Kingston

Hi, I'm Tom – I’ve been a Greens supporter and volunteer for many years. I’m running to represent the grassroots voices that often get ignored, and to help build a more sustainable and caring future for everyone.

[ 7 ] Haru Fergus

Hi, I'm Haru – a UTAS student and campaigner from Ulverstone.

I first got involved with the Greens as soon as I was eligible to vote, and I’ve helped campaign across multiple elections ever since.  I’m passionate about accessibility, climate action, and giving young people a real voice in politics.
