Meet Carly Allen – Your Local Voice for Pembroke
Carly Allen is a proud Eastern Shore local, small business owner, and mum who has raised her family right here in Pembroke. She understands firsthand the pressure of rising living costs, the frustration of overstretched health and transport services, and the deep community disappointment in a political system that too often leaves people behind.
After 15 years living in Mornington, Carly knows the Eastern Shore is the sunniest side of Timtumili Minanya / the Derwent River. She’s passionate about community voice and protecting the places we love. Carly stands with the determined locals who’ve worked to save Rosny Hill, Kangaroo Bay, the Rosny Parklands and Charles Hand Park from inappropriate development.
Eastern Shore residents deserve their Upper House back—a true House of Review, not a rubber stamp. In the Upper House, Labor and Liberal politicians vote together around 90% of the time—including to support the Rockliff Government’s billion-dollar stadium. Carly is the only candidate in Pembroke who firmly opposes this stadium: a project Tasmanians don’t want, don’t need, and can’t afford.
Tasmania absolutely deserves an AFL team—but we don’t need to build a billion-dollar stadium to make that happen. That money should be going to the things we actually need: homes, better medical services, schools and public transport.
We need to move beyond the political duopoly looking after itself, and return to community-centred politics—where everyday people have a real voice and real power in the decisions that shape their lives.
Pembroke deserves strong Greens representation—someone who will listen, take action, and stand up for the community’s future. Carly is ready to work alongside locals to build a thriving, inclusive, and sustainable Eastern Shore.
