HELLO, I’M ZELINDA!
I’M THE DEPUTY LORD MAYOR OF HOBART AND A COMMUNITY-FOCUSED LEADER COMMITTED TO INCLUSIVE, VALUES-LED POLITICS.
Before entering local government, I lived and worked overseas for many years as an educator, including teaching and lecturing in Japan.
I was elected to Hobart City Council in 2018, and in 2024, appointed Deputy Lord Mayor.
In 2025, after a period of reflection, I felt compelled to join the Greens – a party with courage and conviction, grounded in values I align with.
The discourse we’re seeing here and around the world is increasingly divisive. This moment calls for leadership focused on the common good, leadership that protects our shared social and environmental foundations and brings people together rather than driving them apart.
Politics is part of everyday life, but political life requires connection, comradeship and a commitment to principles. The Greens stand for those values, and I’m excited to be part of that collective.
Together, we can build a politics that brings people together and protects what matters most.
