Lukas Mrosek

Councillor, Huon Valley Council

I truly believe that 'We can not solve today’s problems with the same thinking we used when we created them' (Albert Einstein), but have to seek out alternative approaches to find solutions to the magnitude of social, economical and environmental problems we face.

When I migrated to the Huon Valley 11 years ago I instantly knew that this was going to be my new home and I could not think of a better place to live with my wife and our two sons.
Contributing to and being involved in my community is a big part of my life as I believe it is essential to a healthy society. I am an active member in local Landcare groups and in our local Primary School Association.

Further I have collaborated with Circular Economy Huon and the Cygnet Association to develop a concept plan for the ‘Old School Farm’ in the heart of Cygnet. I wanted to showcase that sustainable housing development can be a strong alternative to conventional, profit oriented development whilst embracing community connections, reduce living costs, improve services and build resilience in our communities.

With your support I will work towards an open, transparent and collaborative Council.

I will bring my communication, networking and professional skills as well as my enthusiasm, creativity and passion to the table in order to build a Council that is fair in its processes, engaging with its communities, efficient with its budget, strategic in its planning and prepared for the challenges of a changing climate!
