HI I'M PAUL, YOUR CANDIDATE FOR HUON IN THE 2026 LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL ELECTION!
I’m an architect, builder and local councillor, and I’m proud to be standing as the Greens candidate for the Legislative Council seat of Huon.
My career has focused on energy-efficient, sustainable building. As I became increasingly concerned by the lack of political will to act on climate change and protect future generations, I decided to stand for Huon Valley Council and was elected in 2018 and again in 2022.
During my first term, I spoke out against a flawed and conflicted appointment process and helped expose a conflict of interest. That stand led to real change and a more transparent, responsive council.
I’ve seen those same failures of process repeated at the state level, most clearly in the approval of the Macquarie Point stadium. I’m standing for the Legislative Council because Tasmania needs principled decision makers who are prepared to hold the line, even when powerful interests apply pressure.
I’m active in the Franklin Greens branch, where I’ve served as Convenor, and I’ve been deeply involved in grassroots campaigning – from managing and installing posters to door‑knocking across the electorate. I believe politics works best when it is grounded in listening, facts, and democratic decision-making.
My focus is on informed decision-making, long-term planning, and building resilient communities that support sustainable, satisfying lives for people of all ages.
I’m standing to bring experience, integrity and independence to the Legislative Council for Huon and for Tasmania’s future.
