Tim Morris was elected to the Tasmanian House of Assembly in 2002, representing the Lyons electorate.
Originating from Victoria, Tim moved to the Derwent Valley in 1976. In 1989, he was elected to the New Norfolk Council (now Derwent Valley Council) and later became mayor. During that time, he oversaw the purchase of the Royal Derwent Hospital and Willow Court from the government. He retired from the council and mayorship in 2000.
After the 2010 state election, Tim was elected by Parliament to the position of Deputy Speaker and Chair of Committees. He was also named as the new deputy leader of the Tasmanian Greens, but was not re-elected at the 2014 election.
